Jinns in Quran

Is it possible to interact with jinns?

God tells us in [72:6] " `Human beings used to seek power through jinn beings, but they only afflicted them with a lot of adversity.

From the above we learn that humans do contact jinns and that there could be interaction between humans and jinns.

We also learn from Quran that there are righteous as well as unrighteous jinns:

[72:11] `Some of us are righteous, and some are less than righteous; we follow various paths.
[72:13] `When we heard the guidance, we believed therein. Anyone who believes in his Lord will never fear any injustice, nor any affliction.
[72:14] `Among us are the submitters, and among us are the compromisers.' " As for those who submitted, they are on the right path.

Yes, one can interact with jinns and some may even want to seek power from jinns. But before attempting that one should know what is in store for him/her ahead by being in touch with jinns.

Jinns by definition are fallen angel (18:50) and are descendants of Satan. The majority (disbelievers among them) constantly promote Satan's point of view. God tells us in so many verses that Satan is our ardent enemy -2:208, 6:142, etc. Satan has powers (obviously given by God) and can definitely enforce these if we choose him as our master or Lord. With his powers Satan is capable of doing things which would cause us to go astray and which will surely lead us to Hell. Actually Satan has no power over the believers. The people give Satan power by not choosing God as our Lord and Master. See 16:100 - His power is limited to those who choose him as their master, those who choose him as their god.

As stated earlier God says in 72:6

[72:6] `Human beings used to seek power through jinn beings, but they only afflicted them with a lot of adversity.

This verse indicates that seeking power through jinn beings will only afflict we humans with adversity. Satan misleads his human victims, if we decide to ally with him.

[22:3-4] Among the people, there are those who argue about GOD without knowledge, and follow every rebellious devil. It is decreed that anyone who allies himself with him, he will mislead him and guide him to the agony of Hell.

The promises Satan makes are always broken as stated below:

[14:22] And the devil will say, after the judgment had been issued, "GOD has promised you the truthful promise, and I promised you, but I broke my promise. I had no power over you; I simply invited you, and you accepted my invitation. Therefore, do not blame me, and blame only yourselves. My complaining cannot help you, nor can your complaining help me. I have disbelieved in your idolizing me. The transgressors have incurred a painful retribution."

Further, their knowledge is limited, they do not know the future / the unseen. Anyway, believing that any thing or any entity has any power independent of God would constitute idol-worship, which is an unforgivable offense if maintained till death.

[34:14] When the appointed time for his death came, they had no clue that he had died. Not until one of the animals tried to eat his staff, and he fell down, did the jinns realized that he was dead. They thus realized that if they really knew the unseen, they would have stopped working so hard as soon as he died.

[72:10] " `We have no idea if something bad is intended for the inhabitants of Earth, or if their Lord wills to redeem them.

The only example we can find in Quran of righteous people using jinns is that of Solomon -see verses 21:81-82 and 34:12-13 quoted above. But he had God's authorization to do so.

Taking all the above into consideration one must avoid being in touch with jinns. It is a great risk on our souls to be in touch with entities that are Satan's representative. Like in 5:90, we are prohibited intoxicants, games of chances, etc. because these are abominations of devil.
